Taylor began her lifelong passion for horses at only four years old. She began competing at hunter/jumper shows on the west coast. At sixteen years old, she began working for an Olympic Grand Prix dressage trainer in her hometown of Flagstaff, Arizona. While she was working and learning upper-level dressage, she was also exposed to a discipline new to her: Combined Driving. It sparked her interest, and that introduction forever altered the direction of her career, and life. It was during that time that she realized that she wanted to build a lifelong career out of training horses.
At nineteen years young, she decided to uproot and move completely across the United States to begin training at a renowned combined driving facility in Windsor, South Carolina known as Katydid Farm. Her passion for the sport continued to grow as she trained horses and worked as a groom. Katydid Farm was well-known for having outstanding quality of care for their horses. Katydid also provided a unique experience of being able to train a substantial number of horses, ranging from babies to World Champions (Danyloo). While at Katydid, Taylor continued refining her training and horse care techniques. She was also given the opportunity to begin competing in Combined Driving. Taylor completed her first training level show in 2015 (Pine Tree CDE, Southern Pines, NC).
Taylor began her journey with Katydid Duchess in 2016. They began competing at training level events, and gradually moved through the ranks to the top of the sport. It did not take long for Taylor to become universally recognized as one of the premier marathon drivers in the United States. Her fierce determination and absolute refusal to lose catapulted her to the top of the class, show after show.
Taylor won her first Advanced Single Horse National Championship at Live Oak International in 2020. She was then selected to represent the United States in the 2020 FEI Combined Driving Single Horse World Championships in Pau, France. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic at the time, the Team was unable to travel to compete. Taylor immediately shifted her focus to the 2022 Championships.
Taylor continued training and competing in multiple shows, having won both the 2021 (Garden State CDE) and 2022 (Katydid CDE at Tryon) Advanced Single Horse National Championships.
Following another stellar season, Taylor was again selected to represent the United States at the 2022 FEI Combined Driving Single Horse World Championships in Haras Du Pin, France.
Taylor finished fourth in the marathon and fifteenth overall at the championships. She was the best finishing American at the show, and continually beams with pride when she talks of it.
In the midst of training and competing, Taylor decided to leave Katydid Farm and begin her own equestrian training business. Golden Carriage Driving, LLC was born January of 2022. Taylor Bradish and her fiancé, Ty Golden, opened Golden Carriage Driving as a premier destination for training and boarding of combined driving horses. We pride ourselves on having an unmatched quality of care, and a dedication to helping our clients achieve their goals with their equestrian companions, no matter how large or small. Taylor continues to care for the Katydid horses, and all others, with the same distinguished standard of care. Taylor feels that one of the most rewarding parts of her job is starting young horses and training them to achieve their full potential.
Taylor is currently developing young horses while continually looking toward the horizon at the 2024 FEI Combined Driving Single Horse World Championships.
